Notice of Unauthorized Access of "KIX DUTY FREE - Official Reservation Site for Duty Free Stores under direct management of Kansai International Airport" and Apology

Kansai Airports Retail & Services (hereinafter KRS) confirms that due to unauthorized access to "KIX DUTY FREE - Official Reservation Site for Duty Free Stores under direct management of Kansai International Airport" from a third party, some personal information may have leaked from the lottery winning confirmation webpage (hereinafter Confirmation Webpage), in relation to Japanese aged whiskey sale by lottery.
We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused to our customers.


We would like to inform you of the following information:


●Period of unauthorized access
Thursday 11 March 2021 approx. 20:00~ Thursday 15 April 2021 approx. 19:00.


●Details of unauthorized access and actions taken
On Friday 16th April 2021, we confirmed the possibility of unauthorized access from the third party that we promptly stopped the site with the entry form of the sales by lottery. We also took account of the viewpoint of individual user's information security management and stopped the reservation website and started the investigation respectively.

・Japanese, Chinese (simplified) - Total of 2 Mobile sites
・Japanese, Chinese (simplified) - Total of 2 PC Websites
Following were the possible leaked information:
Lottery Winning number, Lottery prize, Individual's names (Japanese and English), E-mail address, Departure date, Departing time, Flight Number and Prize receiving store.


Applicable customers (max. 31 individuals) will be contacted individually.


In the future, we will work to prevent the spread of damage and reoccurrence by strengthening the cooperation with the relevant public departments such as the police. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused to our customers and we will do our best to not to repeat such an incident.
